The 2023 Sentry Tournament of Champions presents the opportunity for players to start the year off fresh with a victory. In its 25th year hosted on Maui, Hawaii, the Sentry TOC is hosted at the beautiful Plantation Course at Kapalua. The field is set with 39 players that qualified based on either their FedEx Cup ranking or their ability to secure a win on the 2021-2022 season. Along with the opportunity to hoist the 35-pound trophy, players are also playing to take home an record payday after sizable increase to the Sentry Tournament of Champion purse.
The total pure at the 2023 Sentry Tournament of Champions
This year, the overall purse at the Sentry Tournament of Champions is $15 million. This is nearly a $7 million increase over last year’s $8.2 million pot, which represents a staggering 83% bump. Given the rise of the LIV golf tour, we’ve seen significant increases like this at many of the events on the schedule. For reference, this is more than the purse at the 2022 Masters, where the pot was $14.3 million. We can expect even higher totals for the events on this year’s schedule. We can expect the winner of the Sentry TOC to take home the usual 18% of the prize money available to the field, which amounts to $2.7 million. That’s almost double what Cameron Smith took home last year, $1.48 million.
How much does the winning caddie make at the Sentry Tournament of Champions?
