The Travelers Championship has been a part of the PGA Tour schedule since the 1950s and though the title may have been different over the years, Travelers has been ingrained since the start. Travelers became the Title Sponsor of this event back in 2007 and since then, we’ve seen some dramatic finishes late on Sunday afternoons that are sure to keep us glued to our seats. This year was no different. Xander Schauffele was the leader for most of the Tournament but found himself one shot behind Sahith Theegala with one to play. Theegala went on to double bogey his 18th hole taking the pressure of Schauffele to close out the tournament and secure his first individual win since 2019.
The 2022 Travelers Championship Purse
The total purse at the Travelers this year is $8.3 million. This is a very stark contrast when compared to the U.S. Open just one week before, where the total payout was $17.5 million. With his win, Xander Schauffele will take home the usual 18% of the put, which amounts to $1.49 million. Again, this isn’t even half what Mathew Fitzpatrick took home about a week before but is still a pretty decent payday.
How much does the winning caddie make at the 2022 Travelers Championship?
The winning caddie at the Travelers Championship was Austin Keiser. With this win, Keiser gets to take home $149,400, the usual 10% awarded to the caddie on the winner’s bag. Keiser’s payout accounts for 26% of the total prize money available for caddies that make the cut. This is still less than half what Billy Foster took home at the U.S. Open but only 5% less than Harry Diamond’s Payout at the RBC Canadian Open.
