The 2022 Mexico Open was held at Vidanta Resort in Puerto Vallarta for the first time in 2022 and the course seemed to be well suited for this year’s winner. Jon Rahm went wire to wire at the Mexico Open to win for the first time since his victory at the 2021 US Open. This marks the 7th PGA tour victory for the young superstar, which comes with a really nice payday and 500 FedEx Cup points to put Rahm at No. 6 on the FedEx Cup standings.
The total purse at the 2022 Mexico Open
The total purse was $7.3 million. Though the payout at the Mexico Open is not quite as substantial as other events on the PGA Tour, a win here is still enough to change the trajectory of players in the field. With the win, Rahm takes home $1.31 million accounting for 18% of the pot. The remainder is split amongst the 73 golfers that made the cut over the weekend.
How much do the caddies make at the Mexico Open?
This winning caddie taking home the largest share of the purse is Adam Hayes. With this win, Hayes takes home $131,400 which is 26% of the $497,415 purse available to caddies.
